3 stages of crate
Every morning after pugglez has gone outside and had her breakfast she wanders around the house while I get ready.
She usually chills on the couch like this...her slut sitting position.
STAGE 1
Then when I'm ready to head out the door I say "Ok Opie it's time to go in your crate."
As soon as I say the word "crate" BAM she becomes awkward lazy dead weight.
STAGE 2
She gives me sad puppy dog eyes and tries to bargin with me.
"Mom, I don't have to go in the crate while you are at work. I'll be good promise. I puggle swear"
As soon as you reach for her to carry her to her crate she does this.
STAGE 3
This is the last and final stage of her crate routine. She gets stiff as a board and tries to repel me with her belly.
Sorry pugglez you may be cute but your fat ass belly can't stop me from putting you in your crate. EPIC PUGGLE CRATE FAIL (for her at least)

Quaker McQuakerson
I'm Quaker and I went to boarding school and this confuses TKTC.
Here are some bullet points about my like at Quaker Boarding School.
• All of the meals had vegan and vegetarian options which looked better than the meat option because 80% of the kids weren't meat eaters so they tried to please the masses.
• We harvested all our own veggies. As a freshman you have to plant potatoes. It sucked.
• On the weekend you had 3 choices.
1) Take a big white van to the movies (yeah it didn't look weird at all getting out of a big white van on a Saturday with 10 other kids)
2) Sit in your room with no internet but you could talk on you phone...fun.
3) Make-out in a classroom and "watch a movie". More kids lost their virginity in my History classroom more than I'd like to think.
• You could get expelled if you had a lighter or matches on campus. The whole main building was insulated with hay and newspaper so it could burn down in 7 min. flat.
• I used to "shike" (secret hiking after dorm parents called lights out) to my friends room down the hall to play the card game "asshole". It wasn't until I was in college that I realized asshole is a drinking game. Neat.
• I never spoke once at a Quaker meeting. I probably slept through 60% of the meetings.
• I almost got expelled for all the pranks I pulled as a senior. (more about that later)
• Quakers can't fight in wars. I can never be drafted. HOLLER
• It was very rare to have a snow day because over half the students lived one floor above the classrooms.
• When it did snow everyone would grab lunch trays from the dining room and slide down the South Lawn Hill.
• I graduated in 2004. We didn't have a typical graduation like most high schools. Girls wore white dresses. Guys wore suits. Everyone walked barefoot through the woods in a large stone amphitheater. (I sound like a hippie)
I'll share more later...

Steve Jobs
For those of that don't know...I have a huge crush on Steve Jobs. I plan to marry him someday (sorry Bryan).
Well today I got to undress him via Geek Culture.
I'm such a dork...this made my day.

Happy One Year...
Bryan this post is dedicated to you.
Our anniversary is this Saturday and Thanksgiving is tomorrow. For both occasions I wanted to let you know that I am thankful for you...and for us.
Thank you for the past year. You are my best friend, my roommate, my partner, and much more. Thanks you for the good (too many times to count) and the bad (only one bad day).
This year has flown by and I can't wait to spend the next year with you.
And please if we break up before our next anniversary (not likely) I expect you to call and ask me on a date November 29, 2009.
Happy Anniversary!

Step 1 and more
Sorry I haven't been writing much recently. I guess the first thing to do in order to resolve a problem and addiction is to admit to the world that you do in fact have an addiction. Well, I think I'm ready to come clean to everyone.
Fellow bloggers and friends...I am addicted...to...the Twilight series.
Yes, I know it may seem a little ridiculous but I can't stop reading (in my head that just came out to the tune of Journey's "Believing").
I've only had the books a week and already I'm on the 3rd one. I'm a little bit of a loser.
On Saturday I even saw Bella's red pick-up truck at my grocery store!
On a completely different note...(and sane one)...I made cake pops (balls) last night for Bryan.
Opie really likes them too.

Weekend Roundup
• Dave and Elle came over Thursday night to watch "the game" (I say "the game" because I don't remember who was playing but I know it was important to Dave).
• Dave got Opie drunk
• Elle and Opie bonded
• Dave played with Opie which made her sleep like a rock ALL night
• Stayed home sick on Friday
• Worked 10am - 10 pm Saturday (babysitting)
• Went shopping all day Saturday (note to GAP: Your clothes suck this season. You have like 2 1/2 sweaters and all of them are for skinny bitches. Not cool)
• Got LBP (Little Big Planet) (fucking HOLLER) and played for four hours straight
• I suck at the NaBloPoMo game...I think I lost...

Morning Pugglez
Every single morning when I wake up with Opie (the pugglez) she climbs up to my pillow and goes into sleepy slut mode. She gives me full frontal exposure to everything and she kinda looks at me as if to say
"Sup...touch my belly and give me my morning kiss...bitch."
Although she is a mildly repulsive mutant (half beagle/half pug) I love waking up to her in the mornings.
Hotel Cafe Tour
Last night Ang and I went to the Hotel Cafe Tour at Park West.
The Lineup:
Jaymay
Alice Russel (awful don't even bother looking her up)
THOA FUCKING NGUYEN!!!! (fuck yeah)
Meiko
Rachael Yamagata
I had never heard of anyone before besides THAO FUCKING NGUYEN! I've been a huge fan of hers for about 4 years. I love every single one of her songs and she hardly ever comes to Chicago. Well, I don't think Ang knew how big a deal it was for me to see her until I started crying (yes, crying...rock solid awesome suzanne cried at a concert) during her song Tallymarks. She played an amazing set I couldn't help myself.
Also, while I was throwing away my 4th (no 5th) (no 4th) beer I saw that Thao was standing RIGHT behind me. I kinda flipped out a little bit(okay a lot). I scooted back over to Ang and said "Lookbehindyou!". Ang told me to go talk to her so I grabbed another beer and the conversation went something like this:
ME: ImaBigBigFan!!!!! (very awkward, kinda shouting, huge fucking grin on my face)
Thao: Oh, awesome. I'm Thao.
Me: AHAHAHAHAHA (uncontrollable laughter). Yeah,I KNOW WHO YOU ARE! Um...I'm Suzanne.
Thao: Isn't this venue awesome?
Me: Yeah, I've never been here before it's pretty cool. You were so awesome tonight!
Thao: Thanks! Oh, I'm up next gotta run.
Me: Bye (Awkward wave and I couldn't stop smiling for 10 min.)
It was amazing.
Probably one of the best nights of my life.
Yes, Justin we were that friggin' close. Be jealous.

Nothing cuter than Opie
I really don't think there is anything in the world cuter than Opie (my pugglez). Here she is last night lounging on the couch.

Sometimes I think she looks like Falcor from the Neverending Story.

This is after she ate half a bowl of 5 alarm chili...
She passed out for about 2 hours and had the worst pugglez gas ever...which is not so cute.
Football Sundays
Today is Sunday (obviously) and like every other Sunday Bryan and I watch football on our 62 inch TV. Technically, he watches and I surf the interwebs or read Marie Claire. Well, since it was soooo friggin' cold this week I had planned that I would make my famously amazing chili today. Too bad it was 65 degrees out today! I made it anyway and it was delicious.

NaBloPoMo
I joined NaBloPoMo, maybe this will force to me to post more often.
For this post I'm going to be writing a little about my high school experience. I didn't have a typical high school experience like most of you may have had...I went to a quaker boarding school.
No I wasn't forced to go there because I was an awful teenager and NO it wasn't in Switzerland.
I choose to go to boarding school. Part of it had to do with Harry Potter (teehee) and the rest was because I wanted to attend a high school that would challenge me.
Day in the life of a boarder:
6:30 - Wake up! Try to grab a shower before any of the other girls get up. If you didn't get there early enough, you'd be waiting in line for a while.
7:15 - Mandatory check-in at breakfast downstairs.
8:10 - Girls collections and boys collections starts (similar to home room).
8:30 - 12:15 Classes
12:15 - 1:00 Lunch
1:00 - 3:15 Classes
3:35 - 5:30 Mandatory sport participation
6:00 - 7:00 Dinner
7:30 - 9:30 Mandatory silent study hall
9:30 - 10:15 Free time downstairs to mingle
11:00 - Lights out
We really had a packed day and that doesn't even include meeting for worship which we had to attend twice a week for an hour each time.
We also had jobs that we had to do around the school like serving meals, cleaning class rooms, washing dishes...etc.
Our living arrangements were; freshman had their own dorms on either side of the campus, sophomores and juniors lived on the third floor of the main hall and seniors lived on the second floor of the main hall.
The mail hall living quarters were separated girls end and boys end. Girls were not allowed in the boys dorms and vice versa. Unless, you snuck out in the middle of the night and "shiked"(secret hiking) or we had a night of open dorms. Open dorms happened occasionally throughout the semester during the 45 min. after study hall. They would allow boys and girls to show off their rooms and exchange KOBS (kindness of bearer).
A KOB is:
"A KOB is a note originally devised as a means of communication between Boys’ and Girls’ Ends. They are specially folded into a 2 inch square with the name of the person for whom the note is intended and the letters KOB (Kindness of Bearer) written on the outside. In earlier times KOBs were an important way for students to convey their thoughts and feelings to one another. Even in this era of email, students still send KOBs between the ends of the hall."
That's all I have for now.

Game on
Elle tagged me in a game so here goes.
Ok so here's how the game works:
1.Link to the person that tagged you (DONE)
2.Post the rules on your blog (Doing)
3.Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself (check)
4.Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs (I did 7 HA)
5.Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website. (doing)
Here are my 6 things:
1) Wherever I sleep I must sleep on the side of the bed closest to the door. I don't know why. For some reason I feel safer if I sleep closer to the door. But if you think about it, if a axe murder came in the house he'd bust through the bedroom door and I'd be the first one he kills then he'd go for the person on the other side of the bed. Maybe I should ask Bryan to switch places with me?
2) Every single night rain or shine, whether we are speaking or not, I have to kiss Bryan goodnight.
3) I'm afraid of large bodies of water. You can thank my brother for this. He forced me to watch Jaws when I was too young and I have never gotten over it.
4) When I grow up I want to be just like my mom. She is my absolute hero. I admire everything she has done and if I could be half the woman she is I'd be happy.
5) I eat a bagel with cream cheese every morning.
6) I secretly want to build forts whenever I see a lot of pillows and blankets.
I tagged 7 bloggers.

The highlights of my weekend
This weekend was fairly boring but I do have 2 things I'd like to share.
1) On Friday night I checked my Amazon.com order that includes my Rock Band 2 game for the PS3. I was surprised to see that it was already shipping and "in transit" to my house even though it wasn't officially being released until Sunday. I was so friggin' excited. So, Saturday morning when I woke up I ran out to my mailbox like a little kid on Christmas morning. Hmm...it wasn't there. "Well that's ok",I thought, "It is only 10:00 AM." I proceed to check the mailbox every hour until about 8:00 PM that evening. I finally came to the awful realization that it wasn't coming. I was heartbroken. It wasn't until I was lying in bed that night with Bryan that I realized that I didn't ship that package to my house...I had it sent to the office (whoops!). Drats!
I woke up Sunday at 8:00 AM and went to work (babysitting) from 11:00 to 4:00. After I got off work I came home bitching about RB2. Bryan said "Why don't you just go buy it and return the Amazon one when you get it." This is why I LOVE him. He is brilliant. I went right out to Best Buy and bought myself RB2.
I was able to play about 3 songs before I had to go back to work (babysitting) for another family. When I got off work that night at 11:00 I was the giddiest little kid you'd ever seen. I went right home and played my little heart out. I wish today was Columbus day so I could be playing rock band. Why couldn't Columbus have delayed his friggin voyage one week? Didn't he know rock band was gonna come out and I would want to play it.
2) While I was babysitting for family number 1 on Sunday I came across this "fountain" in front of a house.
When I posted it on twinkle/twitter a lot of people didn't believe me that it existed. Well here you go...it's a photo of the shit fountain and a goggle map of it too. Oh and here is a yelp review of it!
What an eventful weekend...I'm easily amused.

Obtuse Angle
Last night after Bryan and I had a wonderful dinner we decided to curl up in bed. Well so did Opie...
After watching a few episodes of Little People Big World we all started to drift off to sleep. Opie decided that she wanted to sleep under the bed on the floor last night. After she got settled, I peaked down over the side of my bed and I saw 2 little puppy paws and 1 little puppy nose poking out from under the bed. I could not stop laughing! I asked Bryan why she was sleeping in such an awkward position. His response was priceless..."Oh, there is now an obtuse angle under the bed so she can't get in the corner."
Seriously, who says obtuse angle?!?!
