The good, the bad, and the ugly

The Good

• Got an amazing check from the insurance company for the fire. Thanks for paying me $500 for my Ikea chairs.
• My new necklace from pulpsushi. This is my first etsy purchase!

• Going to Texas this weekend to see my mom
• My cute new "dress" that I should get this week from Shana Logic.

• BakeSpace
• Halloween is only 31 days away! Can't wait to have my pumpkin carving party...who's down?
• I finally came up with the name for the bakery shop I'm opening when I learn to bake..."Little Bird Tweats"

The Bad

• The house catching on fire
• Bryan losing his part time job
• My future electricity bill. They've been running huge ass fans all over the house to dry out the walls from the water damage.
• I have NO hot water in my house. Cold showers are awful.

We didn't start the fire...

I haven't written much this week because there was a fire in our apartment Tuesday night when I was out of town and like I stated in the headline...we didn't start the fire.
A heating company was installing a new water boiler in the basement and their welding instrument caught the insulation on fire. What's really neat is that the insulation was hay (nah...horse hay) and newspapers from the 1930s. The fire spread into the rest of the basement, the bathroom, the pantry, and the laundry room. I was out of town and the bf handled everything by himself. He did an amazing job!
There is still a lot of moisture in the walls from the water hoses and they are trying to dry the walls out with very large and loud fans. Everything is fine but it has been a whirlwind of a week.

Little I love you

I love finding little notes from Bryan in random spots.
I just found this one in my work notebook.
Who knows how long ago he actually wrote this....

p.s. we are disgustingly cute

Weekend Roundup

I had a pretty busy weekend filled with cleaning, organizing, and shopping.

Friday:
I was supposed to come home Friday night and go to the street carnival a couple blocks away but that didn't happen because the house needed a deep cleaning. When I got home I walked in on Bryan (the bf) reorganizing the all my (our) bookshelves. I panicked! A couple of weeks ago I spent HOURS organizing the books on my (our) 2 bookshelves by spine color. (I know I'm a dork) It literally took about 4 hours. Well when Bryan took it upon himself to organize them all by size (ugh) I freaked out a little. I hate bookshelves organized by size.
After I got over my bookshelf drama I decided to tackle my (not ours) closet. Bryan has been asking for some of my closet space for a few weeks now...I guess the whole second bedroom I gave him wasn't enough. But, I decided it was time for me to stop being a spoiled brat and give him his own space in the closet. It may have taken me 7 months to get to this point but I have finally placed him between my strapless shirts and dresses. He has about 1 foot of hanger space and a whole rack of folding clothes space. Some sacrifices were made on my part...I had to place all my purses under the bed in a storage bin, Kate Spade feels so unloved.

Saturday:
I ran errands all day. I was looking for pillows for the new couch, a rug, a lamp, and little accent items. $700 later...and I ended up with this.

After everything was finished with the living room Kyle, Bryan, Jim, Kim and I decided to go to a house party. The boys dress up like greasers and I got some priceless photos. I will post later.
I was the DD and the party was pretty lame so I left after an hour and went home. Bryan called me at 1:27 AM so I could pick him up. When I got in the car to pick him up I remember our little bet. I checked my reader and he hadn't posted on Saturday!!! When he got in the car, I looked at him, looked at the clock, and reminded him that he lost the bet. I didn't think he would last 30 days.

Sunday:
Bryan and I cleaned the apartment for about 4 hours. I don't think it has ever looked so clean.
We threw out all of Opie's mutilated plush toys and got her some new ones. She was so friggin' happy.

The Bet

Three nights ago when I was busy blogging away in bed, my boyfriend was laying next to me being ignored. Apparently, I was very addicted to finishing my blog post for the evening and I wasn't paying enough attention to him. So he decided since I was ignoring that he would, in turn, ignore me...by starting a blog as well. He decided his "blog" would be a new picture of me every day and a reason why he loved me. I burst out laughing at the thought of my boyfriend (the tough guy that loves sports and big televisions) going all sappy on me. This is definitely NOT his style.
So...after I pulled myself together. I bet him $1,000 that he couldn't keep up his blog for 30 days. He took the challenge and now here we are day 2 of the challenge and he has started an official blog.
30 Days $1000 Bucks

He it is in print for everyone to see. I will not whelch on this bet Bryan. You are going down.

Although, I think I might actually lose...

Like cats and dogs

I know sometimes the two of you may fight like cats and dogs but I love when I catch you in your good moments. Part of me thinks that the two of you sneak off like this all the time and that all the catfights are just for show. Here's to the times I walk in on the two of you sleeping in the dark second bedroom and you give me looks like I've caught you in a horrible act.

Maybe I should sync more...

I finally uploaded my camera onto my computer and I discovered photos and videos from 4 months ago. Opps...I guess I should upload my camera more often. Here are a few of the highlights from the past 4 months.

Graduation Day. I should probably go pick up my diploma.

A bored night at home. I thought I could squish my giant tv with my thumb and index finger.

My staycation with Bryan and Kyle. We went to six flags. I don't know why Bryan looks like Popeye in this picture.

Opie's 3 foot 3 pound bone...she ate it all.

The day Bryan became a construction worker.

Opie and Chloe both perched in their windows.

A couple of weeks ago Ang, elle, and I went to a Little Mermaid sing-a-long at the musicbox. This is a video of all of us singing "Part of your world".

Hopefully, it won't be another 4 months before I upload my camera again.

Paint Day

Well today was "paint the living room day" in the household of Suzanne and Bryan. I am exhausted. We started at around 5:00 pm and we just finished at 11:11 pm. We had to prime the walls (from green) and then paint them the new color (tan brown "Gobi Desert"). Ugh...we are only half way done. We still have to prime and paint the other half of the room tomorrow.
On a positive note...I have learned many thing today. It has truly been a enlightening painting day.

1) Bryan thinks painting hearts on my legs instead of painting the walls is cute.

2) Opie sits like a slut. If she weren't spayed she'd be mad preggers right now.

3) Judging by this photo the new paint color looks like it doesn't exist but I swear it does...

4) Painting stops being fun after about 24 mins.
5) Opie gets scared when I stand on ladders. Apparently she's okay with me being 5 feet taller than her but if I'm 11 feet taller than her...in her words..."that's not cool mom".

Well, that's about all...I'm not looking forward to painting again tomorrow but it needs to get done. I'm excited for the couch to be delivered Tuesday. YAH!

Pugglezzz

Sometimes I wish my puggle Opie didn't bark like a clubbed seal. She'd be so much more awesome if she were Preston the Puggle.

Bowser Invasion

Last night Bowser kidnapped Bryan's Mario toys.

Princess Toadstool wrote Bryan a letter begging for help.

Once I saw the letter in the mailbox I delivered it to Bryan. (Please note the address)

Thank goodness all the toys were saved.
